Survival of the Film Freaks is a documentary exploring the phenomenon of cult film in America and how it survives in the 21st Century. Through interviews and fan events, the documentary will trace decades of film fanaticism up to the present, where the ‘digital age’ has transformed the way we experience movies.
This doc should be mandatory for all film 101 courses. The detailed journey of cinema through the decades to modern day is a glorious “How-to guide” wrapped in a love letter to all the obscure titles and actors that have made movies fun. You can’t watch this doc without running to your computer to look up details on some of these featured cult gems. This film has not only captured the passion of movie lovers but presented the medium in a way that draws the viewer in and excites them.
A great learning tool to hand to young cinema fanatics to educate them on the roots of cult cinema.
